The idea of pegapigs was born in 2010 when I had to come up with a concept for an art exhibition for 2011 from school. The topic was "fantasy & reality". I had a favourite necklace with a pegasus pendant, so I knew that I wanted to make something with pegasus. After talking with my boyfried aka. husband we came up with the idea to make pegapigs, and pegasus artworks.

Back then I had my fist two piggies Kiwi, and Bungie which were the source of inspiration. I made drawings, and relief prints of them as pegapigs. The idea was, that guinea pigs, and horses are the "reality", but pegasus are popular creatures which could be real, so why not creating guinea pigs with wings (the "fantasy" part of the topic).

When I started my business early 2018 I knew that I wanted to honour my beloved piggies (they have already crossed the rainbow bridge) with naming my business pegapigsDESIGNS. Initially I tried to sell fine art prints of my pegapig artworks, and other artworks, but that didn't work out. After seeing other artists working with polymer clay I decided to give it a go, and found so much joy in making little creations. In the beginning I made sundae paperclips, and little icecream creatures. Then I started to sculpt pegapigs, and I've never stopped since then. 

My fantasy pegapigs have their own universe with realms, and stories. Beside my fantasy creations I also make remebrance figurines of beloved pets which is special. and meaningful.
